چکیده
Abstract The Opak fault was known as the Epicenter of Yogyakarta earthquake on May 27, 2006. This claimed more than 5,000 lives, especially in area and its surroundings. Various studies have been carried out determining defining faults. study focuses describing crush zone Trimulyo, Bantul, using photogrammetry method drone survey. equal to +256.000 m 2 with 231.159 tie points, 29.484.107 points dense cloud, 1.965.606 face 3D model, 3.08 cm/pixel resolution tiled 12.3 DEM/DTM model. interpretation showed this were found form two (2) major strike – slip that are defined Fault [4] . faults main structure controlling direction from 0° 35°. finite element modeling of deformation field induced by dip and strike slip fault coseismic activity
many earthquakes occur in iran every year and some of these earthquakes cause loss of life and property. consequently earthquake is one of challenging topics not only in iran but also in other active tectonic regions in the world. investigating the mechanism of earthquake as a natural disaster is the first and important step. to study earthquakes, different information such as geometry and beha...
متن کامل3D stochastic rock fracture modeling related to strike-slip faults
Fault zones and fault-related fracture systems control the mechanical behaviors and fluid-flow properties of the Earth’s crust. Furthermore, nowadays, modeling is being increasingly used in order to understand the behavior of rock masses, and to determine their characteristics. In this work, fault zones and fracture patterns are reviewed, and also comprehensive studies are carried out on the fr...
متن کاملScaling of Fault Parameters for Continental Strike-Slip Earthquakes
The long-standing conflict between the predictions of elastic dislocation models and the observation that average coseismic slip increases with rupture length is resolved with application of a simple displacement-depth function and the assumption that the base of the seismogenic zone does not result from the onset of viscous relaxation but rather a transition to stable sliding in a medium that ...
متن کاملStructural evidence on strike slip Kinematic inversion of the Kushk-e-Nosrat Fault zone, Central Iran
NW-tending faults in Central Iran are expected to represent dominant dextral components due to their orientation with respect to the northward motion of the Arabian Plate with respect to Eurasia. However, previously published works, as well as the focal mechanism solution of the area's earthquakes, indicate evidence of sinistral kinematic along the major faults in Central Iran. Here we present ...
متن کاملStrike-slip fault patterns on Europa: Obliquity or polar wander?
Variations in diurnal tidal stress due to Europa’s eccentric orbit have been considered as the driver of strike-slip motion along pre-existing faults, but obliquity and physical libration have not been taken into account. The first objective of this work is to examine the effects of obliquity on the predicted global pattern of fault slip directions based on a tidal-tectonic formation model. Our...
